Just curious what P&S’ers veiws are on hunting. I’m reading a “how to” book on bow hunting. Here is his view.
Eyes set to the front to gage distance, nimble hands to make expert tools, teeth-bones-muscles and vital parts made for digestion of flesh. Increase blood flow during a kill, and adrenaline floods the body to sharpen senses and reflexes. Like a Wolf, a natural predator. (?) Are we really natural predators?

I think hunting is completely stupid and shouldn’t be done unless it is for food…if you shoot it…you eat it .

If i can draw a 40# english long bow can i draw a 50# modern recurve?
??????? thinking of get a recurve bow for hog/goat hunting… can’t decide between 40#,45#, or 50#
legal limit in my state is 35# for a re curve.
P.S my English Long bow is just a hunk of hickory with a linen backing NO REFLEX/DEFLEX
Your muscles don’t change because you use a different bow.
What ever you are shooting and weight that you are pulling will make no difference if you change the style of bow. In most cases an English Long Bow is a bit harder to pull.
Suggest you go to an archery shop and try the different styles of bows as well as the different draw weights to find the one that is most comfortable for you to pull.
For hog hunting suggest you consider a heavier bow weight. You will need a heavier arrow with a big hunting head for better penetration. The hogs have a very thick skin of grissel, usually thick enough to stop bullets.
