Right handed to left handed bow conversion?
I have an offer to buy a used PSE NOVA bow as a “starter” for bow hunting. The problem is I’m a southpaw – I’m left handed. Bows are scarce in left handed format, but some of them do exist.
The NOVA, on the other hand (nyuk nyuk nyuk) is right handed.
Is there a conversion for right handed bows into left handed bows? My gut says no since the cams would be facing the wrong direction, but it never hurts to ask.
(“Hold it upside down” doesn’t work).
Particularly given the relatively plentiful number of good bows out there, this really isn’t a path worth going down.
While it is true that most of the on – line stores for archery gear only say “right hand only” periodically I find that Cabela’s has left handed gear if you call. Further, all of the manufacturers MAKE the bows in left handed – in fact PSE made the NOVA in left handed it’s just that only 10 or 15% of archers need them so they aren’t that plentiful. You might be able to find one on the used market if you look for one specifically.

As mentioned you need a different riser and different rest which is the main part of the bow to convert to left handed, so it isn’t worth it, as you have to pull the bow completely apart and start over.
It isn’t that there isn’t good gear for lefty’s it’s just a little harder to find, one lefty to another.

Is this good for me a bow?

A 28 "call on the minimum could be a bit long for a 5'9" goalkeeper. Fit and set-ups are almost as important as the goal.

about how many lbs will 1 turn of the allen wrench drop my bows draw weight?
im backing my bow down for some gopher hunting fun to try and get back into archery its at 60 but i dont want to be shooting that all day so i want to take it back to around 50 lbs. if i make one full revolution with the allen wrench about how many pounds does that take of? i think its like 2 but i dont remember.

It will vary with each bow manufacturer usually. But it will range from about 2 to 2.5 lbs per full turn.
