HOYT shooter needs help?
Hi all four to five years ago i purchased a Hoyt ultra Tec. A 60 to
70 pound model with an axle length of 37 and a half inches with a
string length of 58 inches (factory set). A bow which i love to shoot
and can shoot all day.I recently broke a string and sent it away to my
local Hoyt dealer to be repaired and when it returned i went to do a
bit of fine tuning and noticed that the limb bolts were screwed right
in and i could only get 65 pounds of peak draw weight and the axle to
axle length is now nearly 38 and a quarter inches.
When i phoned my local Hoyt dealer to ask about the problem he said
that they had put the right length of string on the bow but if the
string was too long like i thought,He said if the string was longer i
would actually get more peak draw weight from my bow is this
true??????
And if he has put the right length string on my bow then does anyone
have any idea as to why these changes have happened??????
I look forward to any help i can get
I assume you purchased the bow new seems how 4 to 5 years ago it would have been new to the market. That being said, the shop you took it to more than likely put the wrong string on it.
If the string is to long you will not get more draw weight as the limbs will never reach their most drawed point. The axle to axle on a Ultra Tec is 37 1/2″ period.
I highly recommed that you contact Hoyt about this as they dont take kindly to reps doing work like this. I would also find a local shop to get a second opinion on the fact. I assure you that if the axle to axle has changed then the wrong string or a bad install has been done. You have an excellent bow, and your poundage can acually be pushed above what the specs are, once again showing the wrong string installed.
Good Luck & Happy Shooting !
BTW: Your ad of ” Hoyt shooter needs help” is not true ! If you already made the choice to purchase a Hoyt over Mathews and the others then you need no help ! You own one of the best bows ever made and that stands for something ! =)

I need some information on my new bow if someone could help me please?
This year Last, I really got into hunting, I have hunted since I was little, but I never bow hunting. I decided to buy a bow, I went with my taxes and I bought a Hoyt Kater with a rip cord rest, to toxoics 3-pin, and Easton axis full metal jacket arrows shoot arrows ionly 100 grains. but I is not feet per second is said on the network. that says you have to shoot 330 fps and when I bought only 270 fire the guy who sold it to me told me how to boost book about it and I and did not increase the fps at all I was wondering if it could be the string that comes standard on the front or perhaps I need some new arrows. if someone could help me in this situation, it would be great, thank you and the weight of my arrows GPI 11.3 28/12 and my drawing and relevant information that someone could heelp the position that I am a beginner who wants to be really hungry anything would be an amazing archer
The Hoyt Kater was the apex of the arc in the first line Hoyt left. I'll give you some tips here to be the most important thing you could never know deer bow hunting with a bow precision MATA! The speed is not! Nothing more to the world of bow hunting and accuracy. But there is a mentality of bow hunters who want faster arc market. And manufacturers know. And the FPS is totally false advertising. Even in those arches that are a foot in each precise number of seconds achieved by shooting an arrow and the tip was so light that would destroy his bow if he had shot a lot as the light of an arrow. According to the manufacturer, obtained by the fps bows are wrong! Focus to get the maximum accuracy, you can get out of his bow and ignore the speed factor. But if your archery arrow 270 feet per second, which weighs 11 GPI which is extremely fast.Because draw the arrow is one of the heaviest on the market. With a good head off should have no difficulty completing its deer pass through. And man, welcome to the world of bowhunting. There is simply nothing in the world like him.

what new strings should i get for my bow/archery?
hello I shoot a Hoyt vicxen and I’m 14 female and I have been shooting my bow for about nearly 10/11 months and I still have the Hoyt factory strings and I think they have stretched so I need to get some new ones, does anyone know what is the most reliable strings who have a good colour varieties? thanks heaps Lish xx
Gir, my strings have frayed a bit and I have to wax them everyday and 1 of the strands in the cables have got a chunk of it so I defiantly need some new ones.
You don’t need any new strings till it starts fraying.
When it starts fraying, go with the Zebra Hybrid line or bowstrings.
