is my fred bear quest bow any good? im 15 and can pull up to 65lbs?
i would have to buy new cams to get more draw weight out of they bow, but i want to know if it would be worth it or just get a used mathews or martin. right now the fred bear only goes up to 55.
im not sayin i want it at 65, i want it at 60 but none of the answers answered my question if my bow is any good.
Suggest you try other bows to see how they feel. Most bow will give you 10 to 20 pound weight spread. Bear bows are good bows to learn on, the others you mention maybe smoother and have greater let-off’s. Each manufacturer has features that their competitors may not have. It is sometimes better to own several models of bows.
It is very hard to find a bow manufacturer that has everything you want in a bow. Have fun find the bow that fits you and be happy with what you buy. Also consider that you are still growing, you might want to find something that can be upgraded as you grow older. Find a draw weight that you can shoot all day long. I don’t think you want to pull 65 lb all day long. You can have target weights as well as hunting weights. different bow for different functions.
