Compound Bows… what is better… Fred Bear or Reflex?
Thinking about buying one. Can’t make up my mind
Here is the deal. go to where you are going to buy it ask them if you can try them out (if they have a range) they should set each up for you and you can try. Buy the one that is most comfortable for you. You will shoot better when comfortable.
For me I thought the Reflex was better but my brother shoots the Fred Bear.

Rifle Spine shot or Bow Heart and lung at 45 yds?
You are in a groundblind, and your choice is to shoot a spine shot on a trophy buck at 45 yds, with a rifle or shoot at the heart and lung kill zone with the Fred Bear Custom Compound Bow. Whaddya Say?
I love bow hunting way more than gun so I would have to say the bow. Plus I don’t really like taking spine shots unless I absolutely have to.

Is it safe to shoot my compound bow with a bent axle?
I have a Fred Bear Game over that was recently dry fired.
I had the limbs replaced and got the bow back from the shop, everything seems to be ok except when i draw the bow back there is a slight wobble in the cam.
I’m thinking maybe the axle is bent but I’m not too sure, the wobble is only very small and not easy to pick up on unless you are paying attention.
I’ve drawn the bow back at least 50 times and the strings haven’t slipped off or anything like that… but I have been too scored to actualy fire an arrow out of it.
If the axle was bent, what are some of the outcomes? and is it safe to use?
The defective part, be it axle or cam will have to be replaced. Your bow will no longer shoot a broadhead accurately or even shoot a consistent group with field points until the problem is taken care of.And under the stress of a shot, the string may come off resulting in a dry fire that will again blow up the limbs. The shop that fixed it the first time should have caught this problem as they checked it out. If the first problem was covered by warranty, then this should be also because it was a part of the first problem. Take it back and good luck!
