WHO hopes for 2009 Iceman !!!!!!!? Diamond
I'm so excited for this arc to appear in stores. I Can not believe you have a cam with a concentration of central pivot. This bow is also fast and quiet! I hear the price will be $ 830, but because I am 16 and really no major expenses im ready to leave in an arc, plus another 500 for everything else. Who will buy this spring, when it comes out. Please Please share any other information you have in this arc, so Thank you. Where can I buy this bow??

I need help on which bow to buy?
I can order bows pretty cheap from my work, and two bows I can get good deals on are Diamond Bows Iceman FLX and Black Ice FLX. I am only looking at these two bows, I know the Iceman got the best reviews last year but the price of the Black Ice is an awesome deal. This is going to be my first bow and I plan to have it for a while so i want to get the better of the two. I will have to dial the pull weight down to 60 pounds cause Im a little guy and they both can do that. Please and thank you for all the help
I own Diamond bows. I started with the Black Ice three years ago. It’s got a very smooth draw, quiet release, and very low vibration and hand shock. I went to a very large, dedicated archery shop in our area when I was shopping for a new bow. I liked the Bowtech line the most, the General above them all. (I really wanted to like the 82nd as I was in that division in the army but it wasn’t the best choice for me.) I learned that Bowtech owned Diamond and heard that they were similar and cost less. I wanted to get a complete setup for under $1000 so saving a little on the bow would buy other accessories if the bow was of similar quality and feel. I went to Gander Mountain, Bass Pro and couple of local shops. Three of them recommended the Black Ice as the best bow for hunting. When a group of bow hunters get together at a range to practice, we shoot each other’s bows (if we’re of similar setup, especially draw length). I bought the Black Ice with a high level of confidence that it was a very fast, lighter, supremely smooth bow. I’ve never regretted it and have “sold” several to friends who I’ve let shoot it.
The Iceman is a take on the Black Ice. It’s not an “upgrade”, but a different model. Diamond wanted to play upon the success of the Black Ice but make a bow with a different feel. I thought about buy it last year. It wasn’t as smooth as my BI–that was my overall impression. It wasn’t that different, but it wasn’t the same. It wasn’t as still in my hand during follow-through. I liked it well enough, but I wouldn’t leave my BI for it. I also wouldn’t pay more money for it. If I lost my BI, I wouldn’t replace it with the Iceman. I also tried out a few more bows while trying the Iceman. I’ve admitted a prejudice for Diamond/Bowtech already. Two stood out to me after I shot many over a couple of weeks: the Matthews Monster (fast but not as “quiet” in my hand as I wanted) and the Diamond Marquis. The Marquis is larger than the Black Ice and feels very different. I like it as a target bow and one for blind hunting. It’s tuned to be a little faster than my BI. But it’s the BI that goes into the tree stand with me or is in my hand when I’m stalking.
This year I looked again as I started warming up for the upcoming deer season. I really love my bows and take care of them. No problems at all and great hunting with them. I did look at a new model this year–the Mathews Z7. HOLY COW! It is a huge leap ahead of the Monster. It’s incredibly smooth, quiet, stable and accurate. I don’t need another bow… but I’d sure like the have the Z7. It’s the only bow that I’ve wanted since I bought the Black Ice three years ago.
Any decent archery store will let you shoot a few models and will set the one you choose up just for you. You can’t go wrong with either you’re considering, but if you shoot both, alternating between them, I’ll bet that you’ll like the Black Ice for its smoothness more than the Iceman. Many of my friends have agreed by opening their wallets to buy one.
