History
There was once a planet named Beal, until its destruction by the mysterious entity known Gaizok. Would 8lb density foam be too dense for an archery target?
I’ve found an 8lb density foam that seems like it would make a great archery target. Would a 4-6 inch block of it be too dense for an archery target? Or perhaps not dense enough. I would be putting a piece of plywood behind it just to be sure. Does this sound like it would work with target tips?
Forgot to give the bow specs. 35# draw weight from no less than 25 yards.

To answer this you really should state the draw weight of the bow, the type of bow your using, the distance at which you are shooting etc. With something like foam you are looking at a very specific weight which it will work, too low of a draw means it’ll bounce off the foam too heavy and it’ll go straight though, and that board on the back wont stop the arrow. You should use standard target materials like hay. The reason why hay is commonly used is because when the arrow hits it it penetrates without causing any real damage to the hay and the hay creates drag which barring really high draw weights, which will increase speed, will stop most arrows and those that aren’t stopped have their speed dramatically reduced so the won’t continue flying a long distance.
