There are several types of competitions, the three most important are on the field, FITA and 3D. Both the terrain and 3D walk through a field of fire on targets at unknown distances installation. FITA distances you have to learn from failure. FITA is the one I know. There are many other less popular forms of archery, archery, flying, running, archery, ski, golf, archery, etc. FITA has two main divisions of compounds and curved. Then, as each is divided into categories sex and age. Anywhere from 18 to 50 years of age, are divided into categories category. Less than 18 years, is a division every 2 years I think. More than 50 have Masters 50 +, 60 + and 70 + Masters Masters. Also strange ball divisions and the College and the executive. Executive is primarily Adult (18-50) is not yet ready to take the distances of adults. FITA tournaments also vary according to season, inside and outside. season coverage, or take 18 meters or 25 meters depending on the tournament, regardless of gender or age. tournaments outdoor you shoot different distances by sex and age. Adult / Senior Man shot 90m, 70m, 50m and 30m. Adult / older women off 70m, 60m, 50m and 30m. The distances are more than twice on a 122cm target both distances less than 80cm of destination. A tournament full FITA shoot 144 arrows, the maximum score of 1440. 36 arrows from a distance. In both distance and get 4 minutes to shoot arrows 6, 6 completed by distance. Crossbows Brings New Hunting Opportunities
I have been hunting whitetail deer with archery equipment for over 20 years now. And have had my share of good luck but that didn’t happen by accident it came with a lot of practice and hard work. Hunting deer with archery equipment is the most exciting and challenging way you can hunt them.
Now that more and more states are legalizing crossbow hunting it opens up a whole new way to pursue the whitetail deer or other legal animals of your choose. A lot of people think using a crossbow is easy and not challenging but not so fast.
If you have never hunted with a crossbow you are missing out. You still need to beat their eyes, ears and noses and get within 50 yards and that’s not easy you experienced hunters will agree with that. It is a must to have good quality archery equipment too. There are a lot of quality crossbows out there like Barnett, Excalibur, Horton, Ten point and there are few others too.
It is very important to have the right archery supplies as well. Number one good quality sharp broad heads, quality arrows, and a good crossbow scope. I also thought crossbow hunting wouldn’t be much of a challenge but I found out different this past year when Michigan finally opened up a crossbow season for everyone in the lower peninsula. It is more than challenging it is just as tough as using other archery equipment. It is also a great way to get the kids and the ladies into hunting and archery.
With the organizations like PETA breathing down our necks trying to have all hunting banned. This is the perfect opportunity to get young people and ladies involved. Crossbows are a lot more user friendly and easier to handle and in return they will have more fun and enjoy it much more. The more kids and ladies we can get into the sport the stronger we grow as hunters and then we can keep the great tradition of hunting alive for our grand children and their children. With this being said we as hunters need to start to ban together. We need to stop arguing with each other about stupid things like what choose of weapons our fellow hunters choose to go after their game with. This is what organizations like PETA feeds off of.
For us traditional archery freaks like myself I had a hard time putting down my compound bow and giving the crossbow a shot but I’m glad I did it is a blast. That doesn’t mean that I will never hunt again with my compound bow because I will all that it means is now I have new and a little different way to go after the mighty whitetail deer and it is just as exciting believe me. So if you haven’t given a crossbow a shot I challenge you to do so. With the right crossbow, archery supplies and equipment and practice you will open up a whole new and exciting way to hunt the game of your choose and you will be glad you did. Take the time to introduce the lady and children of your life to crossbow hunting. You won’t be only helping this great sport hunting to grow but you will bring your family closer.

I’m glad to hear mixed-media projectile vomiting is back in style. But…I must confess.. I’ve never actually sorted my sock drawer. Well, unless you count throwing out the singles that lost their mates in the wash. Disgusting! I know, but being anonymous here, I can admit to it. Ha!
