What kind of bow should I get?
I'm thinking of getting into archery and bowhunting. I have not shot an arrow since I was a Boy Scout over a decade, so I'm not sure where to start. What kind of bow and arrows should I get? I probably just target practice at first, but eventually it wants to hunt deer in one post.
The type of bow depends on what you like, and how long you're willing to spend on exercise. If you do not want to spend much time practicing then you can go with a compound. arc is a good starter bow target?
I started doing archery target for fun and go to a beach where Can I rent equipment about $ 5 to open the night. I love sports and I would get my own bow. In my opinion, for hunting purposes it’s best to use an arrow. One good reason is, if your hunting for food, you end up with a nice clean kill with perfect meat. When you hunt with a shotgun you get scatter, this scatter gets to the meat and you have to be careful when eating it. With hunting with bow and arrow theres no chance of this occurrence.

What should I get targets to practice my archery? In addition, how do I lessen the LBS on the bow?
I got a new composet bow for my birthday. Well it is new to me but it is used. Anyhow what should I get in the way of targets? At the job core center, I was at the used hay bales. Is that best? How much do hay bales cost? I want to go bow hunting with my cousin this fall “he’ll be the one doing the killing sense I don’t think my skills will be good enough.” also how so I lessen the tension on the strings? The person said they were at 75lbs and I know I need at least 10lbs less than that about 60 to 65.
Also, give me as much advice as possible.
hi there, the cheapest good stopping target i can think of is….get a card board box about 2 feet square and 10 inches deep, fill it full of flat laying news paper, close it up and tape the flaps down good then if you want you can wrap all round the box with saran wrap, this keeps the rain out. your first arrows will only penetrate a couple inches as time goes on they will penetrate deeper, now you can pin a paper target circle to the front of the box changing it as it gets shot out.that is your main target, get it centered 3 feet of the ground. now you need a back stop, a couple old materesses work well…queen size if you can get them, this keeps your arrows from killing the nieghbers when you miss the box, make a frame of some sort to hold them standing behind your target by about 2 feet. as for bringing your limb weight down,look to where the limbs are connected to the riser , you will see 2 allen bolts, get the apropriate size allen key and turn them an equall amount out, on my bow 1 turn is about 3 pounds, be very carefull you don’t turn them out to far, if the limb lets go from the bow its off to the bow shop to get it put back together,so take 2 full turns out then test the weight, this can be done with a household weigh scale, first you need a piece of 2by 6 about 3 feet long and 2 bar stools, or somthing 35 inches or so of the floor, hang the bow on the board between the 2 uprights , now set the scales on the board, keep it centered, now hang the bow across the scales in the center, now it gets tough, here i use my foot to push the bow down like i was drawing it, while i watch the scale ,as the bow comes into the valley, it will start to loose weight , the highest weight you see is what the strength of your pull is.this is not super accurate but gets you in the ball park.remember the more you practice the better you will get, use the right size arrow in a good qualitty carbon. carbons out last all other types of arrows ,they are either straight or busted ,no bent or deformed arrows, well bud i hope this helps , have fun shooting ,and be safe.
