The first reference to golf as we know it was mentioned in 1297 in the Netherlands. The Dutch the rules of the game with a stick and a leather ball. Whoever hit the ball the least number of times to achieve the goal, winning.
In Scotland, King James II banned the game of golf (with football). Apparently, sports kept his subjects from their archery practice. The ban stayed in place through the next three kings, until 1502.
King James IV of Scotland, lifted the ban on golf, because he took the game itself. King James also bought the first set of golf clubs, designed by a local bow maker.
Mary, Queen of Scots (daughter of James IV) loved playing golf. In fact, in 1467, who was punished for playing golf just a day or two after her husband was killed.
In 1744, the Honorable Company of Edinburgh Golfers in Scotland (the first official golf society) established 13 rules of golf. They also announced that golf represented were, Ladies Forbidden.
THE GOLF CLUB
Today standard golf course consists of three parts: the head, shaft, and grip. This next set of tips will explain each of these and say why they are important.
Head
The club head is the final part which makes contact with the golf ball. Heads of today are made mainly of zinc and aluminum alloys. Heads have various shapes and weights that make up the twelve standard whole club.
Axis
The shaft is the part longest club that connects the head and the handle. You can get your axis formed by two distinct components: graphite or steel. Graphite is the best for beginners. You can also have their usual axis to fit your height.
Grip
The grip of your club is on the top, and this is what you have when you swing. It is important that you change your grips often because they may harden, rust, stains of obtaining and losing control. A good rule of thumb is to change your grip every six months.
TYPES OF GOLF CLUBS
There are basically three (sometimes four) types of golf clubs. This next set of tips will describe and they are used.
Woods
Forests are large-headed clubs hollow body. They are used for long shots (over 175 meters from the green). They are assigned a different number called loft, which tells how the head angle is. A standard set of clubs has three forests. These usually involve in:
1 wood (also called the driver)
3 wood
5 Wood
Irons
Irons are used mainly for shots of less than 200 meters away from the green. A standard set of clubs has eight irons: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 irons and pitching wedge (discussed below). The closer you are green, the higher the iron to be used.
Wedges
Wedges are really just specialty irons. (New formulation) increasing amounts wedges in 4 degree loft, so come in 48 -, 52 -, 56 -, 60 -, and 64-degree lofts, and are as follows:
Pitching Wedge: 48 degrees
Approach Wedge: 52 degrees

Exceptional Golf Courses of the World: The Royal Dornoch Golf Club of Sutherland Scotland
The Royal Dornoch Golf Club of Sutherland Scotland's history dates back to "The Dornoch Links" in the cost of golf clubs and golf balls belonging to the young Earl of Sutherland in the time of the year 1616. It is surprising that in all the millennia how little has changed in the minds and mentality of golfers, fellow golfers and those responsible for land courses and their administration.
The description of the area surrounding the Dornoch Links at the "About this town along the coast of the sea Links fairer and more green fields or anywhere in Scotland. FITT for archery, golf, Ryding and all sorts of exercises DOE exceeded areas of Monroe or St. Andrews. "
To date, the Royal Dornoch can always say that among the 100 best golf courses the world's largest.
It According to documents during initial training and the young Earl of Sutherland's golf team is not much that you have registered or noted that 1852, when George Dempster of Skibo, a golfer from San Andrés, played a round with one more game of Dernoch Links. At some point in the time interval between the years 1616 and 1852, the Sutherland Golf Society was formed, its members have played the Dornoch and Golspie.
Dornoch Links at this early stage were only nine holes long. The original ties were formed in the same way primary During the "old" at St. Andrews: a glacier Ice Age carved out the land and deposited sand dunes have been stabilized in time by the growth of sea grasses, and a finer texture of the grass was added by the seeds deposited on the grass by the linkland through the layers of woolly sheep grazing.
In 1883, the legendary Old Tom Morris came to St. Andrews to develop a staff of nine holes. In 1866, under the direction of John Sutherland, another nine holes were added the golf course, Dornoch and therefore is now 18 holes of golf on its configuration, according to the rule established in St. Andrews Golf 122 years earlier.
Dornoch Thus, not only increased the size of a golf course, but also reputation. Held in 1894 his first golf tournament – the time of the tournament.
28 men Moray met 28 golfers from Dornoch Dornoch links. Dornoch Golf equipment is solidly defeat their visitors 246 holes to none. Largest Moray yet men not only to defeat not only as a matter of playing in the land of origin, but rather that the course was far from Dornoch impressive. In fact, the report has been recorded in the history of the relationship "has exceeded anything imagined. The turf is of excellent quality. Everyone was very happy with the course. "
Therefore, it is no coincidence that the Royal Dornoch Golf Club of Sutherland Scotland deserves such a reputation – and the historic golf course, and have also continued their excellent reputation of always being considered a of the top 100 golf courses in the world. It is not accidental and not a coincidence that the biggest dream of golfers and golfers in general, is play and be challenged by this fine golf has always commanded great respect and merit.

How To Locate A Good Archery Club
An archery club can make the life of a die hard archer easier than they ever imagined. When joining a club a person can learn new techniques for bow hunting, target archery, and even Japanese archery, which is an art all within itself. However, if a person is not sure how to locate their local club that is devoted to this activity they may need to resort to the internet which has an unlimited amount of information at one’s fingertips in regards to finding the right club to join.
If one is looking for an archery club that specializes in archery hunting then “3DShoots” is definitely the spot to turn to. This is a one stop spot for those who live and hunt in the United States.
Simply put, this is a directory of clubs that offer hunters who use the bow the opportunity to locate a club in their state. Links to the actual club websites are also here if the club has a website available. This makes it easy for one to actually check out a club and what it has to offer its members.
Another great directory for archers is one that is international. A person can locate this site by clicking on “Archery Info” for a great place to locate not only international clubs but also makers of international products. If one is looking for an Italian made bow for example, then this is the site to check out.
Not only can one find links to special archery accessories makers but they can also locate clubs in countries such as Canada, the United Kingdom, and even Guatemala. This site also claims to be the “largest animal, hunting and archery information sites on the Internet”. This is definitely one site that anyone interested in international archery clubs should not ignore.

Does anybody have any information on archery?
I would like to get involve in archery, but I would like to know some information on clubs to join.
Start out by shooting as many bows (compound, long and recurve) as possible. Technology has greatly improved the compound bow thru the years. If your interested in a lighter fast bow, check out the sidewinder by High Country Archery 3.1 lbs
Parker also makes a light bow called Ultra lite 31, a little to much vibration for me. Learn the bows before you decide. Longer brace height and riser will give you a smoother quieter shot.
Keep paralle limbs in mind also.
If your young, Mathews has a bow called the Geniss which grows with the hunter. Good all around bow which adjust easly.
I shoot a Mathews Outback (LOVE IT) with Cobra sights, peep, kisser button, Limb leaches, Truabll release and Easton Axis Carbon arrows. The BEST thing on the market today is the wisket buisket arrow rest. This rest will slow the arrow down by 5 fps but with todays bows shooting at 250+fps the benifit outways the drawback. Seriously look into that is you choose compound. Best of Luck!!!
