Thinking of getting an archery kit?

I was thinking of getting a bow and some arrows, maybe a target, but anyways, I went to camp for boy scouts one year, and they had these comfortable bows, and I am really used to them because they are the first and last bow I have used. I think it is a recurve bow, can’t remember. Wooden limbs, noticeable sight window (some bows have the limbs blend right into the site window with a curve, this 1 has a sudden stop)and single bowstring. Can anybody help me, because I can’t find any on amazon or anywhere, so…

Is this bow available to public?
Please give me a link, website to go to, no stores.
Do I need a permit or anything to use a bow without permission (12 years of age nearly 13)
I just found a picture of an Olympic bow, and It looks similar, except the 1 I used was brown and white.

MIGHT BE this?

The bow you’re describing sounds a lot like the PSE Buckeye, Great Tree Mohegan or the Internature Bullseye. Have a look at this webstore

http://www.3riversarchery.com/Bows+Youth++Mohegan+Recurve+Bow+By+Greatree+Archery_c44_s94_p0_i2470X_product.html

They’re beginner level takedown recurves. All wooden construction, are also drilled and tapped to receiver sights and stabilizers, so they can be used to compete in Olympic style competitions. These bows costs about $100, just for the bow.

Have a look at www.usarchery.org and there you can find if you have archery ranges in your area. Pay them a visit and see if you’re lucky to have one that will let you use their equipment. Most ranges affiliated with the NAA will provide some guidance to the beginner.

Other things you need to buy would be
Arrows
Finger tab
Arm guard
String
Bow stringer

Then if you want to do Olympic style shooting you need to add
Sight
Plunger
Arrow rest
And later on
Stabilizer
Clicker

Oh yea, no license needed in the US for that. However if you want to practice in your backyard, then you need to check the city’s ordinance regarding archery in private properties.

Compound archery bow arrows?

Can you use wooden arrows with a compound bow? I know that the special arrows are best due to the fact they maximise efficiency and power but can the bow fire wooden arrows just like/better than the traditional bow?

You could, but wouldn’t be that effective.your arrows need to be matched to your draw weight, you bow
poundage, and the spline,of the arrow.you best bet is alloy arrows, for a compound ,carbon can be
used effectively, but are easily damaged with a few people using the same target at the same time
as these can cost upwards of £20.00 each, this is not a good idea,if you could practise at home,
with your carbon, tuning them in properly, and then just using them in competitions, this will keep your costs down.
Depending on the power and the speed per second,of your bow,and the bend or whip of your arrow
you could find that the wooden arrow is just not able to be tuned in…..
