Is my Long Bow good (pictures and details included)?
Hi there, i have bought a bow off Ebay, it hasn’t arrived yet the seller says it is really good and its quality, can i have your professional opinion on the bow i.e. is the quality of the wood good?, the craftsmanship good?, was it worth the £51 i payed for it? and what you think of it personally . Also i am a real beginner at archery could u give an estimate of the velocity of the bow (feet per second) and what arrows should i get for it thanks!.

This bow will be used safely and for the sport of archery, thinking of target shooting
first of all you should have gone to your local gun smith or air rifle dealer who would have been more helpful than anyone on here (sorry guys but this a very specialised field) the only true way to to assess the power of a longbow is that if it is easy to string then it is not powerful enough maybe you should have gone for a decent bow with draw weights that do not take much pulling power,a true english longbow was made from a single piece of yew taken from the center of the tree but containing 2 different types of wood one from the dead center which was soft and the other from next to the center which was has hard this gave the bow its flexability.but even so you may have got yourself a bargain, one more tip find a local archery club ,no matter where you ars there’s bound to be one close to you

Need advice for archery.?
Im 6'4 280 and in pretty good shape, I want to get into the bow … especially cuz its cool and fun. but I was trying to get a bear "Kodiak Magnum – Glass-Powered" I wondered if it would be a good bow to start around 60 arc PND 48 " long, and I can get it for 125, and with a Duzz arrow, please let me know what a newb should know before entering this … Thank you be good advice because I really do not know, September is wood and strings and the pain can be if I go around 8].
Alen, who sounds like a good deal but I have never shot before I would not recommend it as an arc starting. Everyone here has already listed reasons (poor condition due to not using the muscles and prepare lists of weight can not be what you end up taking). If you only have to obtain by all means do so, but DO NOT USE IT as an arc starting. Have you been examined by an arc golf shop to ensure that is in good condition? If it is not taut recurve can stop the tape from the tip and useless (for review before you deposit money.) Make sure if you go to shoot a recurve bow rail to help prevent the rotation of members and to lay the bow much easier. Twist is that the ends of a pair of unequal members during installation. The turning point every time the chain is at the front and make it ineffective and unnecessary. If you want to get into archery (and yes it's fun and addictive), I recommend you check to see if there is a shooting club near you and see if they offer courses for beginning archers. Most places offer courses that have the equipment you use while the class to begin right. Having decided that archery is for you, I'd start looking for a bow and the first thing you must decide is whether to draw a recurve bow or compound (as in recurve is good, but a concession, then decide you want to shoot recurve makes a little more difficult re-learn (you can do it but it is not easy to forget the "Composite" habit) good habits for shooting Recuva). Ok, now that I have provided this information and the space occupied by the end to say that if you want more information please contact me directly

We’re (my entire family almost) going to an archery shoot tonight, after DARK! Is that scary to you?
I mean, think! Arrows, bows powerful enough to kill an animal (even though we’ll be shooting at foam ones), woods, DARK! Just a couple of teeny flashlights…. Can you believe this is legal? Whee! No, we won’t be the only ones there….it’s a competition.
Wish me luck, too! I really want to win something!
Actually, I’M a bit frightened. I shoot well during the day, but I’ve never competed at night.
Nah its not scary, it sounds exciting. Good luck!
Do you want it to be scary to us?

Another great article with correct points, We have been a lurker here for a short time but desire to be far more involved in the foreseeable future.
