need a bow and arrow?

I joined archery at school and LOVE IT. The only problem is i cant find a bow that fits my dimensions. And i cant spend a lot, maybe $300.00 at max.
draw length: 28″
draw weight: 70 lbs
arrow length: 33″
bow length: at least 70″
string length: at least 64″

Know where I can find a bow??

With a bow length of 70 inches, you are looking for a longbow. The thing is, though, the bow’s length does not “have to be” a specific length to fit a person’s specific height; I am 5′ 8″, my longbow is 72″, yet a 4′ 6″ young girl I once knew also used a 72″ longbow — and her 6′ 1″ father used a 56″ recurve.

The only time a long bow length is needed is when the archer needs an easy-to draw bow, one which has a low string angle at full draw, giving less (or no) finger pinch. That is the real advantage of the longbow: The lower string angle. Of course, the advantage of the recurve is more power from a shorter bow at the same draw-length.

Try looking through the on-line catalogs of these places:

They all have quality bows available for less than $300.

BTW, it is strongly recommended that a new archer begin with a low-poundage bow, to help build actual archery skill and prevent injury. By starting with a 70-lb draw, you are setting yourself up for torn ligaments and possibly torn muscles — and learning bad habits which will lead directly to inaccuracy in shooting. A rotator-cuff injury can put you out of the “game” for a year or more. Bad habits learned because of starting with too much draw-weight can stay with you for life.

I have to assume that your school uses recurves (most school archery programs do), so I recommend that you go with a take-down recurve so you can simply swap out the bow’s limbs as you gain the skill to use the higher draw-weight limbs properly. You aren’t going to really need a 70-lb draw for target archery, anyway.
