Archery Practice for Beginners in San Diego CA?
My question is that pretty much.
Will i be able to practice Archery in my backyard or forests?
Will i be able to buy a bow and some arrows without licenses?
Will i need sharpeners or will i just have to buy new arrows.
Is this legal?
If i cant is there any in SD CA ranges or something that i can practice in?
Good questions. I live in Massachusetts but the laws are the same for the whole country. First off, you should know that a license is NOT required for purchasing or owning a bow. However, your first question is quite a bit technical. If you live in an area with neighbors very close to your own yard, you will have to check with your neighbors to make sure they are aware and okay with the fact that you are shooting in your backyard and/ or check your local guidelines. Make sure that you will be shooting in a safe direction, as you definitely don’t want your neighbors to find a runaway arrow in their yard or through their window. Although I don’t recommend shooting in forests, make sure that you have permission from whoever may own private/ government property in forests before you head out. The best way to practice your archery is at a local archery shop or range. Although it will most likely cost you, you can get lessons for a reasonable price. You will have the opportunity to be coached and trained alongside other people as well as get some great help with choosing and purchasing a bow. I’m sure you could find a shop near you in a search engine ( http://www.bing.com/local/default.aspx?what=archery+shop&where=San+Diego%2c+California&s_cid=ansPhBkYp01&mkt=en-us&ac=false&q=archery+shop+san+diego&qpvt=archery+shop+san+diego ). As for your last question, I have never come across any sort of arrow sharpener. It is common to buy replacement arrow tips as your tips go through wear and tear with normal use. I think that answers everything, hope that helps! Good luck!
